Jill Biden Reopens Cover-Up of Biden Decline

Former first lady Jill Biden’s comments on her current book tour are the latest examples of how she and her husband put themselves ahead of the country, Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., told Newsmax on Monday.

Appearing in studio on “Wake Up America Early” with host Alex Kraemer, Fine blasted Jill Biden’s recent media appearances, in which she defended former President Joe Biden’s mental and physical condition while in office.

“The Bidens made it clear all along they didn’t care about America. They cared about themselves,” Fine said. “They’re just trying to cash in on the book.”

Jill Biden drew attention Sunday during a CBS interview in which she continued to defend her husband’s fitness for office and justified his decision to pardon son Hunter Biden before leaving office.

Her remarks have reignited debate over questions surrounding the former president’s health and the administration’s handling of those concerns.

Fine said claims that Joe Biden was fully capable during his presidency are contradicted by what Americans witnessed firsthand.

“It’s an obvious lie,” Fine told Newsmax. “Anyone who watched TV could see what bad shape Joe Biden was in.”

The Florida Republican argued that Joe Biden’s disastrous 2024 debate performance merely confirmed concerns voters had already developed after years of public appearances that raised questions about his acuity.

“The only difference in the debate is it was two hours long, and it was on all of the television stations,” Fine said. “People who were watching weren’t surprised.”

Fine said Jill Biden’s continued defense of her husband risks reopening a politically damaging chapter for Democrats.

“I think it’s terrible for the Democrats,” he said. “It reopens those old wounds, and it reminds people that what they propagated on the American people is one of the biggest political scandals in the history of this country.”

During the interview, Fine also discussed congressional priorities as lawmakers return to Washington, calling on Senate Republicans to move quickly on legislation that would provide billions in funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol operations.

“We need ICE and Border Patrol funded,” Fine said. “Let’s get that done so we can move on to the other things that the American people want us to do.”

Fine additionally criticized anti-ICE demonstrations in New Jersey, arguing that many of the protests are orchestrated rather than grassroots efforts.

The congressman also voiced support for Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis’ push to expand Florida’s homestead tax exemption and reiterated his broader goal of eliminating property taxes altogether.

“If you have to pay property taxes on it, even if you pay the whole thing off, if you stop renting your house from the government, they will take it away,” Fine said.
