Iran’s Revolutionary Guards issued a stark warning on Saturday that Britain would become a “definite and legitimate target” if it continues to support the United States in any future conflict with Tehran, according to Iran’s state broadcaster.

A spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that any country, including Britain and Gulf states, that backs the United States in a conflict with Iran would be considered a legitimate target. The spokesperson also claimed that U.S. bombers have recently used British military airfields, as reported by IRIB.

The warning follows Britain’s decision to allow the United States to use RAF Fairford in England and the joint U.S.-British base at Diego Garcia for what the British government described as “specific and limited defensive purposes” to destroy Iranian missiles and launchers. British officials have emphasized that requests for U.S. use of British bases are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The British government said its decision was based on the collective self-defense of longstanding allies and the protection of British lives.

U.S. Air Force B-1 bombers have operated from RAF Fairford during the conflict. Britain has repeatedly stated that it is not a direct participant in offensive military operations against Iran, while emphasizing that it will defend British personnel, bases, and interests in the region if threatened.

Iran has repeatedly warned that countries allowing the United States to use their territory or military facilities could face retaliation, raising concerns that the conflict could expand beyond Washington and Tehran.
