
Sir Keir Starmer has been on a visit to York today, where he has sought to talk up housebuilding and attend a conference of regional mayors.
But while on his trip to the North, the prime minister also attacked tech billionaire Elon Musk, who he accused of “trying to whip up division” in the UK over the murder of Henry Nowak.
Starmer said that the British are a “reasonable, tolerant people” and will “react family as [Novak’s] family has done” – but accused Musk of “interfering in our politics”.
While in York, the PM visited a building site as he talked up housebuilding, before then attending a meeting of the Mayoral Council.
This afternoon, he is expected to host Nowak’s family in Number 10 Downing Street.
