Suspected arsonist arrested in LA

An arson suspect was arrested last night near the Kenneth fire area in Los Angeles’ Woodland Hills.

LA police responded to reports of a man attempting to light a fire behind a van at around 4.30pm (12.30am UK time).

Residents who spotted the suspect held him down until officers arrived, with footage showing the man handcuffed after police got to the scene.

Investigators are looking into whether the individual was responsible for the Kenneth fire and connected to others.

LAPD said it couldn’t confirm if there was any connection to any fire by the suspect at this time.
