IDF releases video ‘showing troops leaving fuel outside al Shifa hospital’

The Israel Defence Forces has released a video it says shows some of its troops attempting to deliver fuel to al Shifa hospital in Gaza.

Israel has claimed that a Hamas control centre is situated under the hospital, which both medical staff at the hospital and Hamas have repeatedly denied.

Below are screengrabs from the video, which is unverified.

The military said it had placed 300 litres of fuel near the hospital to help power its generators, but that Hamas militants had prevented staff from reaching it.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza disputed this, and claimed the fuel would have provided less than an hour of electricity.

World Health Organisation director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said al Shifa had been without water for three days and “is not functioning as a hospital anymore”.
