Morata came into the game as a second half substitute, after Benzema was rested at the 67th minute. The Spaniard went ahead to grab a last minute winner for Los Blancos.

The striker told UEFA’s official website after the match which ended 2-1 in favor of Madrid: “We didn’t start the game well but Real Madrid are famous for comebacks like these and we leave here very happy.

“We always believed in ourselves and we proved that you can always win a game until the referee blows the final whistle.

“Football is not always fair but it was fundamental to win and that’s what we’ve done. We have to try and finish top of the group.

“Of course I came back here for nights like this, I want to succeed here, that’s my dream. I’m working hard to do that and I want to help out with goals.”
