Since their global rise to fame, the Kardashians have managed to dominate reality tv over the span of the last decade, with millions of viewers tuning in for every new season. The season finale of their original show on E!, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, racked in a grand total of 2.4 million total viewers, yet again proving their immense popularity.
This immense success of their show has fueled their online presence, with each family member boasting millions of followers online, which in turn, has allowed them to grow highly successful businesses.
Despite dominating many news and media headlines, it has not come without controversy. On many occasions, the family has been torn to shreds by the public for things that they have said or done, whether it is purposeful or not.
While some Kardashian family members appear to be better at handling the backlash than others, one member of the family has opened up on several occasions about her struggles with fame, and alongside, revealing past embarrassments.
When Did Kylie First Appear On Keeping Up With The Kardashians?
The first season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians officially aired on E! Network on the 14th of October 2007, when Kylie Jenner was just ten. However, did she actually appear on the show at such a young age?
Viewers who already watched the first few seasons of the show know that Kylie was in fact on the very first season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, filming every season up until Season 16, when she decided to take a break from filming.
While many fans were alarmed, this decision was reportedly taken in response to the Jordyn Woods drama involving Khloe’s ex, Tristan Thompson. The magnitude of the situation had seemingly taken its toll on Kylie, and she was reportedly ‘very upset’ by it all.
The rest of the family also dived into filming head first, starting from the very first season. The only family member to quit later down the line was Rob, who left and didn’t return for the 14th season of the show, alongside Caitlyn Jenner.
As of writing, the family has now filmed for almost fifteen years, with the youngest Kylie and Kendall blossoming from young children to now fully grown adults. However, while it may seem like a dream for many, it has still thrown challenges their way.
How Does Kylie Jenner Feel About Reality TV?
While Kylie has arguably become one of the most popular members of her family in terms of public appeal, the glamorous lifestyle has not come without its setbacks for the young socialite.
On several occasions, Kylie has opened up about her past struggles, including how she really feels about filming.
In an episode of Life Of Kylie, the young Hollywood socialite revealed that fame made her feel like an ‘outcast’ because she ‘can’t relate to a lot of people’, however she didn’t go into any further details. In other episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she also revealed that she doesn’t actually enjoy fame as much as some of her others sisters.
When her sisters question her about the pressures of fame, Kylie responded by saying: “Some people are born for this life and some people aren’t. And I just know I’m not supposed to be famous – like I can feel it deep down inside. I can’t handle it, I care too much”.
From this response alone, it is abundantly clear that Kylie feels a lot of pressure from being thrust into the spotlight.
She has also previously mentioned that being homeschooled as a teen was ‘sad’, and that she even missed out on prom. This is an event that was particularly important for her, however, she later realized her dream by attending prom with a fan.
Kylie Thinks This Was Her Most Embarrassing Scene
Over the last decade of filming, Kylie has made fans very aware that she is not a huge fan of fame. However, she does also have particularly strong opinions when it comes to her most embarrassing moments on camera.
During an exclusive interview with E!, Kylie revealed the scene that she found the most embarrassing during her time on the show. So embarrassing in fact, that she ‘wished it never happened.’
Kylie admitted, “Probably the stripper pole. The stripper pole was so embarrassing. I wish it never happened.”
However, her ex-best friend Jordyn seemed to feel differently about the scene, branding it as ‘one of her favorites’. The infamous scene took place during the first season of the show and shows Kim and her friend laughing and joking as a young Kylie whirls around the pole.
While it was seemingly only a bit of harmless fun, she still continued to run off in embarrassment when her father entered the room.
In another scene, she and Kendall are seen dancing around the pole while Rob films them. However, now Kylie has grown up, it appears that she finds more embarrassment at the moment than amusement.
