Famous actor Harrison Ford is set to mesmerize movie lovers in The Secret Life of Pets 2, a sequel to the 2016 animated family comedy that claimed the best opening weekend ever for an original film.
An update from Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures confirmed Harrison among new additions to the crew. Others are popular comedians: Patton Oswalt, Tiffany Hadish, Nick Kroll and Pete Holmes.
Harrison, 75, is excited to lend his voice to the film which will eventually become his first animated feature film work ever, as well as the first animated role since he voiced Han Solo in cartoon portion of The Star Wars Holiday Special.
Other cast members who featured in the 2016 blockbuster are: Kevin Hart, Bobby Moynihan, Eric Stonestreet, Ellie Kemper, Jenny Slate, Lake Bell, Hannibal Buress and Dana Carvey.
The release date is scheduled for June 7, 2018.

Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy will produce the sequel in collaboration with Brian Lynch, who wrote Minions. The producer, once again, is Chris Renaud, who showcased great talent with Despicable Me series and Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
The previous Secret Life of Pets grossed over $875 million worldwide to become the highest-grossing film from Illumination Entertainment and second-highest Universal Studios release at the domestic box office.
