Hearts sign German midfielder Kiomourtzoglou

Hearts have completed the signing of German midfielder Orestis Kiomourtzoglou from Dutch side Heracles Almelo BV.

The 24-year-old has signed a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

“He’s one we’ve had our eye on for a while so to be able to bring him here ahead of the window closing is great news,” said Hearts manager Robbie Neilson.

“He’ll bring a real presence to our midfield and his style of play will be well suited to the system we implement here.

“We’re building a squad capable of challenging on two fronts – domestically and in Europe – and to have Orestis be a part of it is a big plus.”

Motherwell want to bolster attack in final days

Motherwell manager Steven Hammell will step up his search for new attacking options after losing a lead at Kilmarnock.

Asked about his plans ahead of Thursday’s transfer Deadline Day, Hammell said: “We will bring in a couple, at least, in the last few days.

“I think we need that, especially at the top end of the pitch. We had every attacking player on the pitch that we had there, and we still need a little bit more.

“I think we need to be a bit more clinical and cleaner in the final third and that’s hopefully something we can address in the next few days.”

Man United unlikely to move for Gakpo

Manchester United are unlikely to pursue a deal for PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo

United are close to finding an agreement with Ajax for winger Antony as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster an attack that has secured back to back Premier League wins with three goals in two games.

Gakpo started PSV’s game at Excelsior and looks set to stay with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s club.
