A Fly Jordan Airlines passenger plane flying the Amman-Istanbul route experienced a tyre burst after touching down at Istanbul Airport in Turkey. The incident took place while the aircraft, bearing registration FJR-300, was taxiing on the E1 taxiway, according to Hava Haber, a digital aviation news outlet, which reported the event in a post on X on Sunday.
The plane stayed on the taxiway after the tyre failure, and passengers and crew were evacuated. Hava Haber stated that all 121 passengers, two infants and nine cabin crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft. No injuries were reported.
“Necessary procedures have been initiated at the scene, and a technical investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the tyre failure,” the platform said. It added that further details on the aircraft’s technical condition and the circumstances surrounding the incident were expected after the authorities’ investigation.
