Filipe Luis, the Brazilian who plays as a defender for Diego Simeone’s side warns the Champions League semi-final between Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich is ‘still open.’
Atletico have a first leg lead through Saul Niguez but Filipe, who commended his teammate, stressed that there is still a lot to play for in Germany next week.
“It was intense, difficult, a very tactical game. They have impressive attacking power, with a lot of people. We knew we had to be solid at home. It’s a good result, but it’s still open,” an ‘exhausted’ Filipe said, according to AS.
“It was one of the most difficult games of my life. The surprise factor was against us. I didn’t expect so many second line attackers, but the team was good, we corrected individual errors. And we kept a clean sheet, which is the most important thing.
“Saul’s in a great moment, impressive form, and has the humility when it goes in his favour. He has a lot ahead of him, but he has to keep his feet on the ground. He has a great future.
“It’d be even better if we got 2-0 [when Fernando Torres hit the post], but it’s a good result. We have to do well in Munich.”
