Ethiopian Airlines is launching promotional fares to attract Chinese customers and other travelers from China as the company celebrates Ethiopia’s upcoming New Year.

Ethiopian New Year, also known as Enkutatash, is marked on Meskerem 1 on the Ethiopian calendar. This day falls September 11 this year.
The celebration is both religious and secular, starting with church services and closed with tasty family meals.
Yared Berta, the airline’s representative in China, said that to celebrate the festival, all the company’s flights from China to Ethiopia will be discounted 20 percent for customers booking at its official Chinese website, www.ethiopianairlines.com.cn
The special offers will last between now and Sept 30.
The airline has 28 weekly flights from China, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Ethiopian officially joined Star Alliance in December 2011.
