Doctors perform amputations without anesthesia in Gaza – WHO

WHO

The World Health Organisation has said that surgeries, including amputations, are being performed in Gaza without anaesthesia due to critically low supplies.

The WHO is one of a number of organizations to call for more aid to enter the enclave, and for “humanitarian pauses” to allow the worst injured out of the enclave.

A spokesperson also said that at least 16 health workers had died since the outbreak of the war.

“Over 16 of the healthcare workers have died on duty while taking care of those injured and diseased,” Christian Lindmeier said.

“These are the people keeping the health system going through the dedication they have somehow found a way to keep some level of service going.”

2-day-old baby survives Gaza bombing

A remarkable video to bring you now, which shows a two-year-old baby who survived a bombing in Gaza.

The baby boy is believed to be just one or two days old, and there are no records of his family – meaning officials do not know if his parents are dead or alive.

The Hamas-led health ministry in Gaza says 160 babies are born in the enclave every day, with some 50,000 women currently pregnant.
