Position Overview
Roger Williams University (RWU) in Bristol, Rhode Island, is hiring a full-time first-shift Custodian to perform custodial work and maintain campus buildings and facilities. This is a Facilities Management Union position.

• Bonus: $500 signing bonus after a 4-month probationary period

Core Responsibilities

• Cleaning Services: Clean and service restrooms, smoking urns, and ash trays; mop, sweep, and scrub floors; maintain floor surface finishes; vacuum and shampoo rugs; dust and wax furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, and trim; wash windows, glass doors, and interior glass
• Debris and Snow Removal: Collect debris in and around buildings; empty building receptacles into outside containers; sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways
• Doors: Lock and unlock classrooms, lecture rooms, and offices
• Moving: Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as directed
• Painting: Paint as directed and required
• Repairs: Report all items requiring repair
• Additional: Attend all mandatory safety classes

Requirements

• At the University’s discretion, education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where a candidate demonstrates an equivalent combination of education and experience preparing them for success in the position
