Cristiano Ronaldo could be the Chinese Super League’s biggest deal

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has revealed that he received a jaw-dropping offer worth €100 per year from a Chinese Super League club.

Mendes spoke to Sky Sports Italia before the weekend but failed to name the Chinese club which made this mouth-watering proposal.

Speculations in the media however say it’d be nearly impossible for Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid for financial gains.

The 50-year-old Portuguese football agent said: “From China, they’ve offered €300 million to Real Madrid and more than €100 million per year to the player.

“But money is not everything. Real Madrid is his life. Cristiano is happy at Real Madrid and it is impossible to go to China.”

Ronaldo recently won a 2016 Club World Cup trophy after the Spanish giants triumphed over a Japanese club side Kashima Antlers. CR7 netted a hat-trick in the match.

The Portuguese international has also championed the course of Madrid’s 2016/17 La Liga campaign; having won the 2016 World Best Players, 2015/2016 Champions League trophy, and the Euro 2016 glory with Portugal.

Mendes continued: “The Chinese market is a new market. They can buy a lot of players, but then again it is impossible to go for Ronaldo.

“Cristiano is the best player in the world and best ever. It is normal to have some offers.

“He won the European Championship with Portugal, it’s like winning the Italian league with Genoa: they were not the favorite,” the super-agent added.

The Shanghai SIPG recently lured Brazilian player Oscar to China. A whooping £60 million transfer fee was paid for the former Chelsea forward, reports confirm.

Money is not everything for a footballer, as Mendes rightly said. However, if Ronaldo decides to move over to China for the cash, the €300m transfer fee would have come close to tripling Pogba’s world record switch (€105m) from Juventus to Manchester United.

The proposed salary is also estimated to be around six times his current earnings at Santiago Bernabue.
