Shanghai has published a new regulation on the employment of people who are in close contact with minors, restricting sex offenders from engaging in specific occupations, according to local authorities.

People who have been convicted of sexual offence are banned from professions that are directly in contact with minors, such as teachers, doctors, trainers and childcare workers, as well as those who have close contact with minors such as security guards and drivers.

Volunteers who have close contact with minors are also required to be reviewed.
