Chinese, Russian officials hold consultations on United Nations Security Council affairs

China’s Assistant Foreign Minister Miao Deyu on Wednesday held consultations on UN security council affairs with Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister in Beijing, China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The two sides exchanged in-depth views on the current international situation, relevant matters of the UN and the Security Council, “the Summit of the Future,” and international and regional hotspot issues, the ministry said, adding that they agreed to jointly defend multilateralism and firmly safeguard the international system with the UN as the core.
