Michael Carrick believes Bruno Fernandes will remain at Manchester United this summer.
Fernandes broke the Premier League’s assists record by recording his 21st of the season as United beat Brighton 3-0 on Sunday.
The 31-year-old turned down a move to Saudi Arabia last summer before playing a key part in United’s third-placed finish this season.
And when Carrick was asked how confident he is and how important it would be that Fernandes stays, he said: “Yeah, he’s such an influence. He’s been a captain and led by example in different ways. I’ve got no reason to think otherwise.
“I love what he’s done and he loves being here. I can see that. I know he wants to start every game because he’s enjoying his football, which is fantastic.”
