Cameron: Houthi rebels warned before UK-US strikes

US and UK strikes were carried out after ‘repeated warnings’ to the Houthis

The US and UK strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen were carried out after “repeated warnings”, Lord David Cameron has said.

The UK’s foreign secretary said the Houthi attacks on international shipping were “threatening innocent lives” and “must stop”.

The Conservative peer tweeted: “The UK and the US have carried out further strikes on Houthi military targets.

“We have issued repeated warnings to the Houthis. Their reckless actions are putting innocent lives at risk, threatening the freedom of navigation and destabilising the region.

“The Houthi attacks must stop.”
