Cameron absent from manifesto launch

One senior cabinet minister who will not be at the Conservative manifesto launch is Lord Cameron.

The foreign secretary is in Berlin for the Ukraine Recovery Conference, where Ukraine is appealing for help to repair its electricity network, which has suffered more than two years of Russian bombardment.

The foreign secretary’s absence stands in contrast to the attention and visibility he garnered standing in for Rishi Sunak on D-Day, after the prime minister left Normandy commemorations early to record an election campaign interview.
