Brendan Rogers abandons reporter for asking questions about his wages

Furious Brendan Rodgers stormed out of a press conference after blasting a “disgraceful” and “disrespectful” question, according to The Sun.

The former Celtic manager is under mounting pressure at Leicester after a dire start to the season at the King Power Stadium, with the Foxes bottom of the Premier League having taken just five points from 10 matches.

After Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, Rodgers gathered with a small group of reporters to take questions regarding Thursday’s match with Leeds but his mood quickly turned sour as he was left fuming by one interviewer’s line of questioning.

Rumours and speculation circulating on Leicester fans’ forums and websites have suggested that Rodgers’ contract means, in effect, that he’s too expensive for Leicester to sack.

But when this was put to him, Rodgers responded: “I have read on the news what I am supposed to be on and I know for sure that is a total fabrication.

“It’s nowhere near. I actually think it is a disrespectful question, very disrespectful. I never asked you how much money you are on or whether there is any blockage in your role from your owners.

“I don’t think you need to worry about my wages. If there is a stumbling block in anything, you need to ask the owners that.

“It’s a disgraceful question,” added Rodgers, before ending the interview
