Blinken in Saudi Arabia on 11th Middle East visit

US secretary of state Antony Blinken has landed in Saudi Arabia for talks with the country’s foreign minister.
The diplomat was greeted by the US ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Michael Ratney, before meeting Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud in Riyadh, the capital.
This is Mr Blinken’s 11th trip to the Middle East since the war between Israel and Hamas broke out last October.
After leaving Israel this morning, Mr Blinken said there were “two things left to do” in the region – bringing Israeli hostages home from Gaza and ending the war “with an understanding of what will follow”.
“That’s what we’ve been working on this past day and will continue to work on throughout this trip,” he said.
It was announced this morning that Mr Blinken will follow his visit to the Middle East with a trip to London to meet with Arab leaders.
