Bayern Munich forwards Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane reportedly fought in the dressing room following their Champions League quarter-final defeat at Manchester City on Tuesday night.
The pair appeared to argue during the closing stages of their 3-0 loss, which leaves Thomas Tuchel’s men with a mountain to climb in the second leg in Germany next week.
Bild said Senegal international Mane, a two-time African footballer of the year, wasn’t happy with the way Sane had spoken to him during the game and confronted the former City winger after the game.
Bild claim the apparent tension between the pair escalated in the dressing room, leading to Mane to punch Sane in the mouth, resulting in a split lip.
The reports suggest that Sane continued his journey on the team bus upon their arrival back in Munich, while Mane departed separately.

Mane, who has struggled to impose himself at Bayern since his arrival from Liverpool last summer, was ineffective after coming off the bench to replace Jamal Musiala in the 69th minute.
Sane had started the match against his former club, whom he left in 2020 to link up with the German giants.
The pair’s argument supposedly started after Mane made a run in behind instead of offering to come short, which prompted the pumped-up former City star to make his feelings known. A loud discussion is claimed to have followed in the dressing room after the game.
Bayern stars then reportedly separated the two team-mates after Mane lashed out, which allegedly left a mark on Sane’s face. Bayern are yet to comment on the altercation.
After the game, former Chelsea boss Tuchel, who was taking charge of just his third game at Bayern, claimed the scoreline flattered their opponents.
“This does not feel like a 3-0 but it is a 3-0 and it is a huge, huge task now to turn this around. We are realistic but we will not give up,” he said after the final whistle. “It will not be over until we are in the shower.
“The reaction was great during the first half. In the second half, it was even better. In the period where the goal could give us a huge boost of confidence, the opposite happened.”
Bayern’s Decision after the brawl
Bayern Munich suspended Sadio Mane for one match and fined him following the altercation with Leroy Sane.
The German professional sports club based in Munich, Bavaria and best known for its professional men’s football team, which plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system suspended the Senegalese football star after he punched Sané in his face following an argument that ensued during the match.
The club announced in a statement on Thursday that Mané will not be in the squad against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The statement obtained by partly read, “Sadio Mane, 31, will not be in the FC Bayern squad for the home game against 1899 Hoffenheim next Saturday. The reason is misconduct by Mane after FC Bayern’s Champions League game at Manchester City. In addition, Mane will receive a fine.”
Both players trained with Bayern’s first team on Thursday, before the Senegal international was suspended by the German giants.
Mane, who does not have history of being involved in such altercations, has been under scrutiny in recent months after a series of average performances.
The former Liverpool forward has scored 11 goals in 32 appearances during his first season at Bayern.
There are not thought to be any pre-existing issues between Mane and Sane.
