Barcelona VS Osasuna: Luis Enrique reveals formation

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique spoke at a press conference ahead of the away game against Osasuna. The Spaniard disclosed his plans on how he expects Sergi Roberto and Andre Gomez to serve La Blaugranas.

Though Aleix Vidal is making a fast recovery, Enrique says Sergi will keep his position at the right-back.

The 46-year-old tactician added that Andre has quality talents that’ll soon prove useful for the club but says the Portuguese will be “used more often as an interior.”

On Sergi Roberto Lucho said: “Sergi gives us different possibilities, he’s a wildcard of a player because of how easy it is for him to play in different positions.

“This year he’s been more of a right-back and he will keep this role in principle, but I can’t rule out playing him in another position.

“In principle, his position this season, and as we have designed the squad, is as a full-back.”

Answering a question on whether Gomes will someday take over from Barca veteran Sergio Busquets, the coach said: “Yes, in fact, when we put him there we understand he has the qualities to do it, later we will have to see with a number of games under his belt if it’s his position.

“I think, however, that his best position is interior and that’s where he can give the team the most, not just for how he works on the ball but for how he arrives [in the box] and the shot he has.

“He helped us as a pivot. I think in the end it’s something that helps the players, to be able to feature in various positions, and of course the team, as I have more resources and more options.”

Meanwhile Lucho is not happy that there’s a mole in Barca’s dressing room. The coach is probing to uncover the player who has been leaking secrets to opponents.

Enrique realized a “Thomas” among his players is selling out on the team, probably for financial rewards, after his set piece plans were published in the Spanish press.

For this betrayal, Barca last two of their last games, including the 4-3 loss to a low-rated Celta Vigo before the international break.

Reports confirm the situatiom is driving Enrique mad, and he has sworn not to rest until the bad egg in his team is uncovered.
