‘Barcelona Are Only Humans,’ Luis Suarez Says.

Luis Suarez insists Barcelona are only “human” after their surprise loss to Alaves which was followed up with an outstanding win against Celtic on Tuesday.

The former Liverpool man netted twice and offered Messi an assist, as Barca mercilessly avenged their 2-1 defeat to Alaves over the weekend. Messi has scored a record sixth hat trick in the tournament so far.

La Blaugranas bashed Celtic’s hope of a win or draw in the game with a 7-0 thrashing during the teams’ Champions League opener.

“There were many games in which we weren’t together,” the striker explained to TV3 in a post-match interview.

“There were the holidays and Neymar was at the Olympics, but now we have the chance of enjoying [our football] together again.

“We were starters and enjoyed helping the team to get our first three points in the Champions League.

“We’re human beings. It’s normal to have a bad day. We know the League is long and that we dropped three points we didn’t expect [to drop], but now we know we must rely on ourselves because otherwise the League can make things difficult for us.”

So does Suarez believe he can repeat his 58-goal haul of last season in this?

“[Talking about a possible chance of repeating his 58-goal magic from last season] Exceeding last season’s number of goals is very difficult, what matter are the objectives at group level,” he replied.

Suarez scored 59 goals in 53 appearances during last season’s campaign.
