A suspected bandit attack has claimed the life of one resident and left two others injured in a community in Kano State.
The attack reportedly occurred when armed assailants invaded the area, causing panic among residents as they opened fire. The incident resulted in the death of one person, while two others sustained injuries during the assault.
According to local sources, the attackers also made away with cash and an unspecified number of livestock before fleeing the scene.
Residents said the incident has heightened fears among people living in border communities, who have continued to experience security threats linked to armed bandit activities.
Community members called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property and prevent further attacks in the area.
The injured victims were taken to a medical facility for treatment, while security personnel were said to have launched efforts to track down those responsible for the attack.
The latest incident adds to the growing security concerns in parts of Kano State, particularly communities located near borders that have experienced recurring attacks by suspected bandits.
