Barcelona want to swap Antoine Griezmann for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix this summer, according to Esport 3 journalist Lluis Canut.
Canut claims the fact Jorge Mendes is the agent of Felix makes a possible swap deal possible. According to the cited media, Atletico would be delighted to have Griezmann back at the club, while Barça would like to get his salary off the wage bill.
Said exchange was supposedly on the table last summer, but Atletico rejected it at the time as they felt it wasn’t a fair deal.
Now, they’re not so sure it would be unfair after a decent season from Griezmann and a disappointing one from Felix.
On Tuesday, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo told El Larguero he wouldn’t close the door on bringing Griezmann back to the club.
“I hope to bring Griezmann back but I don’t think Barça want to get rid of him,” he said.
On Felix, he added: “There’s no chance he leaves.”
