‘Sleeping in space is one of the most comfortable ways to sleep’

When asked how sleeping in space is going, Christina Koch said: “We do love sleeping up here, and it was such a long initial day that I think our bodies were ready to sleep no matter what.

“Most of us have been sleeping really well. For me, sleeping in space is one of the most comfortable ways to sleep. It’s very deep sleep.

“Sometimes when you first get up here, you have a little bit of a sensation that something’s wrong as soon as you wake up; maybe you’re falling, or you don’t recognise your surroundings, but it’s great.”

“Honestly, being human up here is one of the coolest things about this mission.”

“We might go look at the far side of the moon… and then go ‘mmm maybe I should change my socks’.

“This is the dichotomy of human space flight.”

‘I’m told this is the farthest interview ever conducted in history’

In a live interview with Tom Costello, a journalist from Sky’s US partner, NBC News, Reid Wiseman says the journey so far has been an “awe-inspiring” experience.

Costello said he had been told “this is the farthest interview ever conducted in history,” as he congratulated the crew for going where no one has been since 1972.

“It really bends your mind” to be up here, says Jeremy Hansen.

“We’re explorers at heart as human beings, and we really feel like we’re exploring out here,” he adds.

‘We have definitely lost track of the days’

Have you found yourself losing track of what day it is over the Easter weekend? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one.

Artemis II commander Reid Wiseman said the crew “have definitely lost track of the days”.

“We heard a rumour up here that it is actually Saturday back on Earth.”

NASA jokingly posted on X that it: “Happens to the best of us”.
