Antonio Conte not worried about contract with Tottenham, wants to sign Eriksen

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte says he is not thinking about his contract at the moment but says he will speak to the club to find a solution that suits everybody.

Conte says he would like to coach Christian Eriksen again as Spurs prepare to face the Danish midfielder’s Man Utd side at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Eriksen worked with Conte at Inter before he suffered a cardiac arrest and was reportedly of interest to Spurs over the summer after his Brentford contract expired.

But United moved quickest to snap him up and signed the 30-year-old to a three-year deal.

Asked if he considered bringing Eriksen back to Spurs, Conte said: “I don’t want to speak about players of other teams.

“Christian is a player I enjoyed working with and a player I would like to train again, to have in my squad.

“But the transfer market is very difficult and I think he made a big choice to go to United and sign a contract for three years.

“I wish the best for him and his family, apart from the game against us and then for the rest of the season to be the best on the pitch.”
