Neymar’s first day in France started with a press briefing after which he was officially presented to fans as a PSG player.
Prior to his unveiling, the Brazilian play-maker told critics that his move from Camp Nou to Paris wasn’t born out of greed, stressing that there were other interested clubs which could have paid a lot more.

“I wasn’t moved by money,” said the 25-year-old at a press conference. “If it were for the money, I would be somewhere else.
I am here at Paris Saint-Germain, not because I wasn’t a star at Barca or that I felt disrespected”
Neymar’s outrageous 222 million euros transfer has been a subject of controversy in the football world. Critics are questioning PSG’s rationale on the spent amount, saying it’s contrary to FIFA and UEFA’s financial transaction limits.
The Ligue 1 club had its first match delayed for about 15 minutes because of the unveiling event. Their match against Amiens started at 15:15pm while the Brazilian star’s presentation started at 13:45pm.
PSG officially requested permission to be allowed a few minutes at the Parc des Princes.
The former Barcelona and Santos FC player highlighted that he’s desperate for new challenges as a footballer who’s hungry for more titles.
Reports confirm his presentation continued for long hours today.
Over 300 accredited sports journalists and members of the country’s football body were on ground for the event.
