Palmer: No plans to leave Chelsea

Cole Palmer has insisted he has “no plans” to leave Chelsea amid speculation linking him with a summer move.

Palmer has a contract in west London until 2033, but Manchester United are reported admirers of the playmaker who grew up in the Wythenshawe area.

“Obviously Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don’t miss it,” he told The Guardian. “I’ve got no plans to move from Chelsea.”

Chelsea currently sit seventh but Palmer said he had been given assurances that the club would be making signings to help them compete further up the table.

“If we finish in a Champions League spot it puts us in a good position to sign players that we need,” he said. “We spoke to the owners and they’re sure of the players that are gonna do it.”

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali addressed manager Liam Rosneior’s future in a rare interview, saying: “I think we’re behind Liam.”

Giving his own backing to Rosenior, Palmer said: “The manager is good and when he has a proper pre-season and gets his ideas across properly and the way he wants to play he’s a top coach. “
