Real Madrid players arrived their Mercure Hotel in Cardiff Friday evening but were ushered in from the back door.
A report from Marca confirms the decision was born out of security concerns.
It was a great disappointment for the swarm of Madristas who had waited at the front gate to give their idols a heroic welcome. They watched in sadness as the team’s ground and air security operatives led the players through an entrance which is never accessible to the general public.
However, there’s still a chance for those who can afford rooms at the hotel because Madrid only paid for a total of 70 rooms instead of booking the entire hotel.
The entire squad will be joined by coach Zinedine Zidane and club director Florentino Perez.
All 25 players who were listed in the squad will share a meal together before returning to their rooms for some good rest, and then set out on a visit to Wales’ National Stadium.
Madrid will train tonight for their UEFA Champions League final match against Juventus tomorrow 3 June, 2017.
Their training will be open to the media, reports confirm.
