The world’s 2016 Sexiest Man Alive is someone you know and have seen on many ocassions, maybe in the movies. Dwayne Johnson [The Rock] needs no introduction. He has been named one of the sexiest men to have ever graced our planet.
Ellen DeGeneres made the official announcement on Tuesday’s episode of “The Ellen Show.”

PEOPLE magazine released a publication on Tuesday, confirming Johnson as 2016’s “Sexiest Man Alive.”
“He’s sweet, smart & sculpted!” the bold tagline from PEOPLE magazine reads along with the actor’s image on the cover of its annual special issue.
The award inducts Johnson into an elite club where only beautiful men with rare qualities are accepted. He joins other Hollywood celebrities like Chris Hemsworth, Harrison Ford, and Brad Pitt.
Other celebrities included in this year’s list are : England’s Prince Harry, Keegan-Michael Key (“Key and Peele”), John Krasinski (“The Office”), rapper Drake, Rami Malek (“Mr. Robot”), singer Nick Jonas, Jay Hernandez (“Suicide Squad”), Patrick Dempsey (“Grey’s Anatomy) and Trevor Noah (“The Daily Show”), the LA Times wrote.

The wrestler-turned-actor took to Twitter to express his joy after the announcement was made.
“Thank U @People & all the fans,” Johnson wrote on Twitter. “Grateful for the luv!”

Reports confirm the magazine is yet to release a complete list of another 135 men who were named for the award.
The 44-year-old has featured lots of movies but is mostly known for his roles in the “Fast and the Furious” series.
Johnson’s successful acting career has been crowned with his latest contributions to “Ballers” [the HBO series], an appearance in Disney’s upcoming animated movie titled “Moana” and the recent comedy “Central Intelligence.”
“I thought, ‘Wow, we’ve pretty much reached the pinnacle,’” the American-Canadian told People in reaction to his new crown.
“I’m not quite too sure where we go from here. I’ve done it all. This is it,” he added.
During the interview with PEOPLE, Johnson revealed his past troubles as a young boy growing up in Hawaii.
He said: “I was doing a lot of things that I shouldn’t have. I was getting arrested multiple times but at the same time, always very respectful to my teachers and elders. I was unsure of who I was and who I wanted to be.”
On what makes him sexy, the father-of-two said it’s a combination of confidence and humor.

“I think with a lot of my fans, I’ve gotten to a very, very cool place where there’s a direct line between the man they know off-screen and the man they see on-screen,” Johnson said.
Earlier in June, Forbes declared Johnson the highest paid actor in Hollywood. He was said to have raked in a whooping $64.5 million between June 2015 and 2016.
Johnson, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time, holds a WWE record as the sixth Triple Crown Champion. He won the 2000 Royal Rumble.
