11 people injured after drone debris hits homes in southern Ukraine

At least 11 people have been injured after Russian drone debris hit a residential area of Ukraine’s southern Mykolaiv region.

Ukraine’s state emergency service said a two-storey residential building was partially destroyed in the overnight attack, with nearby houses also hit.

The attack saw a fire erupt in a house and two cars, it said, with the flames “quickly extinguished”.

According to initial reports, 11 people have been injured – two of whom have been taken to hospital.

Ukrainian air defences down eight Russian drones

Ukraine’s military shot down eight of nine drones launched by Russia at areas of southern Ukraine overnight.

The General Staff of Ukraine’s armed forces said the “Shahed” drones were originally launched from Crimea and were downed over the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.

We reported in our previous post that drone debris injured 11 people in Mykolaiv overnight. There were also emergency power outages in Odesa after one of the high-voltage facilities there was damaged.

It’s unclear what happened to the drone that was not destroyed or whether it hit Ukrainian territory.
