Read Rose McGowan’s powerful speech at the first annual Women’s Convention.

Rose McGowan took a bold step, after 20 good years, by going public with her sexual assault tales against The Weinsteins co-founder Harvey Weinstein, and her recent speech at the inaugural Women’s Convention was a clarion call for women empowerment.

Rose, addressed an excited crowd of “Me Toos” at the event held on Friday in Detroit, where she earned an applause for helping bust Harvey by encouraging other abused women to speak up in the media.

“My name is Rose McGowan, and I am brave — and I am you,” she started in the highly emotional speech.

The activist, producer and actress, then thanked her “fabulous, strong, powerful” #RoseArmy supporters.

“I have been silenced for 20 years. I have been slut-shamed. I have been harassed,” she continued.

“I have been maligned. And you know what? I’m just like you. Because what happened to me behind the scenes happens to all of us in this society. And that cannot stand, and it will not stand.

“We are free. We are strong. We are one massive, collective voice — that is what #RoseArmy is about,” she added.

“No more will we be shunted to the side. No more will we be hurt. It’s time to be whole. It’s time to rise. It’s time to be brave.

“In the face of unspeakable actions from one monster,” she refused to mention Harvey’s name for the shiver it sends down her spine, we look away to another — the head monster of all, right now — and they are the same. And they must die. It is time. The paradigm must be subverted.”

Rose also called on all women, within and outside the entertainment industry, to unite and forge a diverse representation behind the camera, The Los Angeles Times reported.

“Hollywood may seem like it’s an isolated thing, but it is not. It is the messaging system for your mind,” she said.

“It is the mirror that you’re given to look into. This is what you are as a woman. This is what you are as a man. This is what you are as a boy, girl, gay, straight, transgender, but it’s all told through 96% males in the Directors Guild of America.

“I know the men behind that view. They shouldn’t be in your mind and they shouldn’t be in mind. It’s time to clean house,” she said.

The popular actress has featured in several films, including “Planet Terror,” “Scream,” “Jawbreaker,” and “Charmed,” an early 2000s TV series.

The New York Times’ investigations uncovered that Mr. Harvey Weinstein paid a financial settlement of $100,000 to McGowan in 1997 over an incident in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

Harvey, who has gone for rehab, said through his representative Sallie Hofmeister that none of his sexual relationships with the women were non-consensual sex.

Police in London, Los Angeles and New York are investigating the 65-year-old producer and co-founder of Miramax.

Fashion Taboo: The most shocking red carpet fashion styles

“Beauty,” they say, “is in the eyes of the beholder”. Though people have different fashion tastes, one thing anyone can easily identify without mistakes is a scantily-clad woman.

The pictures taken in May 2012 show Micaela Schaefer as she walked the red carpet during Will Smith’s “Men In Black 3” premiere. She’s a German nude model, TV presenter and actress.

Schaefer was crowned Miss East Germany 2004, Miss Venus 2005, The Face Of Campari 2005 and Miss Maxim 2006.

The 33-year-old beauty is used to putting on pants and bra. She can also take a walk on the streets with just body paints, so this red carpet outfit was considered as one of her modest fashion styles.

Rihanna also went the way of Schaefer at the CFDA Fashion Awards in 2014.

The Barbadian singer made a “bra-less” choice that will forever be remembered in the world of fashion.

Riri stunned everyone when she turned up at the CFDA event wearing a shimmery lace gown. Her see-through dress left nothing to the imagination but we were happy she won the 2014 Fashion Icon Award.

In truth, a real bad gal met the modern day Hollywood on that day.

However repulsed we may feel about those celebrities who walk half-naked on the red carpet, baring their most prized assets at any given chance, we must understand that fashion is constantly evolving.

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right, I believe, has been misinterpreted by individuals as well as the laws in some countries.

Nonetheless, in the light of threats from a seemingly unavoidable WW3, radiation, pollution, and this unnecessary debate on everything that has gone wrong with the world, wouldn’t it be right for us to go back to the stone age?

The campaign for “real freedom” may have started with some of these provocative fashion styles.

Rose McGowan mesmerized the crowd at MTV’s 1998 Video Music Awards with her semi-nude outfit. She was seen with Marilyn Manson.

In a chat with reporters at the event, Rose laughed over her fashion style which critics described as highly provocative.

Rose said she thought her dress would be funny, adding that she never planned to put her body on display.

She claimed her request from the designer was to have something “provocative at the back”.

Unfortunately, she received the dress only a few hours before the VMA’s and had no choice but to use it. She later described that decision as “punk AF”.

Adrienne Bailon suffered wardrobe malfunction in 2012, too.

Bailon, an ex-girlfriend of Rob Kardashian attended the Escape To Total Awards Event in New York where she revealed her treasure island “unknowingly”.

Thankfully, she remembered to cover up somehow.

The 33-year-old former member of “Cheetah Girls” later admitted to Celebuzz that she didn’t wear any undergarments.

“If I could come out naked, I would,” she told Celebuzz. “This is just some fancy stuff to throw over my little naked body.

“The wind blew and despite what other girls may do, this is really a terrible accident to me,” Bailon told Russell Simmons, trying to cover up the rumor that she deliberately flashed her crotch at a public event.

“I’m really upset, but I’m even more upset about what my parents might think. I want to be known for my talent. I love the idea of being sexy, but I’ve never been in this business to sell sex, I’ve been in this business to sell my talent.

“The truth is, when you look at the pictures, you don’t realize that the wind really did blow my dress, and I don’t really know what else to say about it.”

Adrienne Bailon rose to fame in 2000, after being discovered by pop star Ricky Martin, who included her in the all girls group 3LW.
