Rob Lowe has described Donald Sutherland as “one of our greatest actors”.
Lowe, known for The West Wing and dozens of movies, said it was his “honour” to work with Sutherland “many years ago”.
The pair starred in miniseries Salem’s Lot in 2004.
“I will never forget his charisma and ability,” Lowe said on X.
“If you want a master class in acting, watch him in Ordinary People.
“My condolences to Kiefer.”
‘We lost a legend’
Jon Cassar, who directed both Donald and Kiefer Sutherland in 2015 movie Forsaken, has said the actor “created unique and believable characters every time he stepped in front of the camera”.
“Sad news today – we lost a legend,” Cassar said on X.
“I was one of the fortunate directors to have worked with him and got to see the brilliance up close.
“RIP, sir.”
