EPL Player In Brussels During the Explosions.

An English Premier League player and DR Congo international Dieumerci Mbokani was present at Brussels airport in Zaventem as at the time of the bomb explosions which killed dozens of people yesterday 22 March, 2016.

Reports from Norwich confirms that:

“The on-loan Dynamo Kyiv striker was unharmed but shaken by the tragic events at the airport, in which a number of people were killed or injured.”

“The club is in constant dialogue with Dieumerci, who has now returned home to be with his family. The thoughts of everyone at Norwich City are with the victims of the atrocities in Belgium today and their relatives.”

The 30-year-old Norwich City striker Dieumerci Mbokani is currently on loan at the club from Dynamo Kyiv.

He has previously represented Belgian clubs Anderlecht and Standard Liege

The Premier League club revealed it had contacted the Congolese striker, who has previously played club football in Belgium, since the dramatic events unfolded in Brussels to ensure he was safe.

Since the attacks, the airport has been evacuated and all air traffic to and from it have been suspended. Local media have reported that as many as 35 people have been killed and more than 100 injured following the multiple explosions at the airport and the Brussels Metro.
