Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane will leave the club at the end of the season, Onda Cero have revealed. The radio station reported that Zidane informed the players of his decision before the game against Sevilla last Sunday.
On Saturday, Zidane increased the doubts on his future at Madrid, explaining that “there are moments when you have to stay, and others when it’s finished and you have to go, but not just for me, for everyone.”

The French coach added: “I don’t know what will happen. I’m here. [On Sunday] we play. Then we have one game left. After that, anything could happen, because this is Real Madrid. I don’t look at the past or future, it’s the present.”
Zidane could end up with no trophies this season after being knocked out of the Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup and the Champions League. With two games to go, Madrid need to win their final two matches and hope Atletico drop points to win the title.
Zidane has one year to run on his contract.
“You talk about me leaving in 2006 and as coach [in 2018] and you might think I walk away from responsibility, or I leave when things get complicated, but no, never,” Zidane added.
“What I do is give everything, to the end, and then the moment comes to change, not just for me, for the good of the players too.”
