Real Madrid were forced to adapt their pre-season plans in Montreal in Zinedine Zidane’s absence, and the French coach has said an emotional goodbye to his brother, Farid, declaring that he had always shown him the way.
Zidane uploaded a picture of himself and his late brother on social networking websites on Sunday afternoon, with Farid’s illness finally claiming his life on Saturday.
“You always showed me the way,” Zidane wrote. “You were fair, generous and courageous.
“You loved others and others loved you so much, I was always very proud of you, forever in my heart.”
Zidane’s brother Farid has passed away. Our condolences to the Zidane family. RIP.

It is expected that, in the coming days, the Frenchman will return to Canada to oversee Los Merengues’ pre-season training once more.
