Vanilla Ice and Wife separate after 20 Years

Vanilla Ice and wife Laura Van Winkle have agreed on divorce after nearly 20 years of marriage. The famous Texas-born rapper who is regarded as one of the bestselling MCs of all time has two daughters aged 18 and 16.

His wife Laura filed paperwork in Florida’s Palm Beach on Tuesday.

According to a report from TMZ, the two have been separated for a few years but want their divorce to be legalized.

Laura wedded Ice in 1997 and their marriage is blessed with two daughters aged 18 and 16 – Dusti Rain and KeeLee Breeze.

Ice, 48, was arrested on domestic battery charges in 2001 and 2008, Billboard confirms.

Though they’ve been married for two decades, their marriage has been rocky but the couple tried hard to keep it together.

In 2011, the Huffington Post reported that Ice, whose real names are Robert Matthew Van Winkle, moved out of their family home after an alleged cheating scandal.

Ice recently appeared on season 23 of Dancing With the Stars, together with a professional dancer named Witney Carson. Though both were eliminated after week 4, the rapper sent a birthday wish to his dance partner just a day before Laura filed for divorce.

“Happy birthday to my partner @WitneyCarson,” he tagged a group photo featuring a fellow competitor James Hinchcliffe. “The best dancing @Ninja ever. @DancingABC #dwts.”
