Donald Trump has promise Iranians that the American government would offer great support against President Hassan Rouhani, whose security agencies have boldly suppressed peaceful protests, as well as killed, maimed, and detained dozens of harmless citizens in the ongoing civil unrest.

Mr. Trump told Iranians in an inspiring message on social media that Rouhani’s government will receive assistance at the “appropriate time”.
Citizens of Iran are protesting for a change of government, which has been unable to bring effective results against the rising cost of living, unemployment, mismanagement of public funds, inflation, and air pollution.

In addition, Rouhani’s government has been accused of channeling government funds to terrorism sponsorship, a claim made by their neighboring gulf states and the West.
In Mr. Trump’s latest tweet on the political uprising, he wrote: “Such respect for the people of Iran as they try to take back their corrupt government. You will see great support from the United States at the appropriate time!”

Hundreds and thousands of Iranians have taken to the streets in an anti-government protest which started last Thursday, and at least, 20 people have reportedly been killed so far, with over 450 people suffering varied degrees of injury.

The ongoing massive protests have been widely reported to be Iran’s worst and most violent in decades.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian supreme leader, points accusing fingers on “faceless” instigators who he described as “enemies of the country,” saying they were responsible for inciting Tuesday’s deadly protests.
Khamenei said Iran had “used the various means they possess, including money, weapons, politics and intelligence services, to trouble the Islamic Republic.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif also said on the same day that citizens that Iranians are enjoying their rights and freedom notwithstanding the reported usurpation of governmental power.

Zarif said Iranian citizens “have the right to vote and protest,” unlike their neighboring US allies, noting that the authorities would not permit “infiltrators” to sabotage these rights “through violence and destruction.”
