Transfer Rumours: Non-League Ashton United interested Haaland

Non-League Ashton United say they have made a cheeky bid to sign Erling Haaland on loan from neighbours Manchester City during the World Cup.

With top-flight football taking a break for the global showpiece in Qatar, the prolific Haaland will be out of action in the coming weeks as his country Norway failed to qualify.

Ashton, of the Northern Premier League Premier Division, English football’s seventh tier, believe they can offer the formidable striker the perfect solution to help him maintain his match fitness.

“It just makes sense,” said Robins manager Michael Clegg. “City aren’t playing, and we want to help by keeping Erling fit. It makes more sense than him playing golf for six weeks.

“We think he will be a great fit for us and would slot in with our squad dynamic really well.”

Ashton say they are yet to receive any response from City.

Inter target Thuram free transfer

Inter  want to sign forward Marcus Thuram in the summer, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Marcus Thuram is the son of World Cup winner and former Inter defender Lillian Thuram.

Thuram Jr’s contract with Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach expires in the summer.

Villa and Fulham interested in Kessie

Aston Villa and Fulham are both keen in signing Barcelona’s Franck Kessie, according to Sport.

Barcelona are reportedly open to transfer outgoings in January due to the state of the club’s finances.
