Th world waits for first sighting of Royal Baby

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have welcomed a newborn baby boy into their lives, as the proud father tells the world of the “amazing, absolutely incredible” joy his “to-die-for” son has brought them.

The Duke, who could barely contain his excitement as he personally announced the safe arrival of his firstborn child, said he and his wife were “just over the moon” in their first few hours of parenthood.

The baby boy, who weighed 7lbs 3oz, made his arrival at 5.26am on Monday, after the Duchess went into labour in the early hours of the morning with the Duke by her side.

He was believed to have been born in the sanctuary of Frogmore Cottage – the Sussexes’ home on the Windsor Estate. But the Daily Mail reported that Meghan had her son at a London hospital, possibly The Portland.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said: “We are unable to confirm speculation about individuals who may or may not have been cared for at The Portland Hospital.”

After hours of blissful privacy, along with proud grandmother Doria Ragland, the couple authorised Buckingham Palace to share the news with the waiting world.

In a mixture of tradition and modernity the Sussexes have made their hallmark, a formal announcement was accompanied by an Instagram post – colored in blue – declaring: “It’s a boy!”

In a statement, Buckingham Palace elaborated: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son.”

And with those few short words began a new generation: a family of three, a first half-American, biracial royal baby, and a once lost little prince finally transformed into a proud father.
