Ronaldo remembers when AS Roma players begged him to stop dribbling

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most gifted players on earth and his football antics, especially the showboating attitude which often attracts envy from opponents, teammates, referees and fans, will, most likely, make him susceptible to attacks from AS Roma players on Saturday.

Juventus will battle Roma on 22 December, and the encounter will be Ronaldo’s first in black and white although he has a wealth of experience against them as a Manchester United and Real Madrid player.

The 33-year-old Portugal international footballer played a total of 6 matches against Roma and won 5 of them with memorable contributions. He expects another win for the Old Lady in Turin.

Talking to IlBianConero about the upcoming game, CR7 recalled his return leg of the 2006/07 Champions League quarterfinals at the Old Trafford after United had lost their opening match at the Stadio Olimpico 2-1.

‘It was devastating for Roma because they never expected the 7-1 home win from us–in front of their own fans,’ Ronaldo said in excitement.

‘At a point during the game, the scoreline was 6-0 and our hosts couldn’t help but beg me to stop showboating…One of the Roma players was courteous and humble enough to beg me, others were deeply hurt and infuriated.

‘Most of them threatened to injure me on the pitch,’ the famous No. 7 added. ‘I refused to exchange shirt with any of them after the match.’

Juventus are looking forward to a successful outing that will consolidate their first position in Serie A. There are speculations that the champions will cruise to yet another title this season.
