Romelu Lukaku in training with Manchester United

Romelu Lukaku is currently in far away Los Angeles as he prepares to play a major role in Jose Mourinho’s campaign for the 2017-18 season challenges.

The 24-year-old footballer was pictured alongside teammate and close friend Paul Pogba in UCLA, where they trained ahead of the Belgian’s medical test on Thursday night.

Romelu will hopefully put pen on papers as soon as the medical is completed, and of course, declared positive.

Mourinho’s squad will jet off on Sunday to meet the duo as part of their summer tour.

Pogba is reportedly the middleman who facilitated Romelu’s transfer deal between Everton and Manchester United.

The France international footballer and world most expensive player convinced Romelu to chose United over Chelsea.

However, football analysts are yet to understand why Mourinho would want to break the bank for a footballer he rejected in 2014.

“It is one thing to play for Everton and another thing to play for Chelsea,” Mou said in a statement at that time, referring to the availability of super-forwards like Samuel Eto’o, Demba Ba and Fernando Torres.

The Portuguese coach has finally found reasons to want Romelu, and is ready to cash out £75 million in his favor.

The Belgian player is one of the only five players who were able to score 50 goals before their 23rd birthday. Yet, his stay at Chelsea was never guaranteed.

Romelu made his professional debut as a 16-year-old student. His first international game for Belgium was in 2010 and he has since earned over 50 caps, a World Cup experience, as well as played in the Club World Cup.

Antonio Conte’s employers maintain they’re still in pursuit of the striker, but this bold step from United points to a fact that the battle has swung in Mourinho’s favor.

‘United have already agreed healthy personal terms with the 24-year-old and his agent, and will pay Lukaku up to £200,000 a week, in the hope of getting the deal done more quickly,’ writes The Independent.

Wayne Rooney will likely join Everton on Romelu’s arrival at Old Trafford.
