Rihanna says no troubles With Beyonce, calls for peace among black women

Rihanna has once again denied having an ax to grind with Beyonce. Fans on both sides have always insinuated there’s no love between the famous singers, and the 2017 Grammy Awards nomination which was released yesterday has worsened the situation.

Queen Bey received a total of nine nominations to stay on top.

However, Rihanna fans were outraged that the Barbadian singer wasn’t selected for Album of the Year notwithstanding her efforts on “Anti”.

Beyonce’s “Lemonade”, Drake’s “Views”, and Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” all made the final cut.

While the “Work” singer says there should be unity, not division among black women, some angry fans aren’t taking things lightly with Beyonce. They believe Jay Z’s wife has an overbearing influence on Grammy nominations.

One of Rihanna’s fans wrote on Instagram:

“Congrats and all to @badgalriri and all for her 8 Grammy nods but tbh f**k them because they snubbed her for Song of the Year and Album of the Year. Like how n***a? I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough* [lemon emoji].”

Surprisingly, Rihanna went ahead to “like” the comment though she later had to explain her reasons. She said it was a mistake.

Her post reads:

“I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! Til I seen it pop up over and over! I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary!

“I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture!

“We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”

Love it or hate it, ANTI is Rihanna’s best album to date and one of the best albums of the year. It deserved at least an AOTY nomination.
