Real Madrid Have Put Isco on the Transfer Market

Real Madrid have put Isco Alarcón on the transfer market hoping a serious buyer would step up for negotiations. According to reports, if any good offer arrives before the end of this summer transfer window, a sale would be considered.

The latest business development at Los Blancos comes as a result of having too many quality midfielders, adding to the fact that Marco Asensio will likely stay.

Another problem is, it has been very difficult for coach Zinedine Zidane to share playing time between James Rodriguez, Isco and Asensio, according to AS.

Zizou earlier told the press that Madrid won’t need more players after winning the Champions League, however, reports speculate lack of finance and the huge price tag on Paul Pogba was the reason they lost the bid to Manchester United. The coach said it was never about money.

Another report confirms James Rodriguez was the reason Pogba couldn’t join Madrid, because the Colombian star changed his mind on leaving the club. The initial plan was to use proceeds from his sale, with a little addition, to purchase the former Juventus midfielder.

Los Blancos won’t be selling their No. 22 just at any price though they seem desperate to offload a star. This summer transfer window has witnessed bags of money changing hands from Barcelona, Juventus, Valencia, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and more.

If Isco Alarcón finally gets the axe, Real Madrid won’t be the only club selling cheap.

Football analysts have argued that though it’s acceptable to have other options for different positions, having too many players for one role will be counter-productive. Do you agree?

Isco, James and Asensio all play behind the Benzema-Cristiano-Bale trio.
