While many football analysts believe the Frenchman is yet to hit his peak at the Theater of Dreams, one person who has faith in the 23-year-old is Nigeria and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

The Nigeria international footballer says he believes Pogba will surely win the Ballon d’Or someday.

Mikel spoke to Goal about United’s most prized jewel, saying the £89 million player who’s currently the world’s most expensive footballer will soon become “a world best”.

In his words: “I met Pogba after the game against France and he is a lovely guy.

“He is a lovely human being.Today he is the world’s most expensive football player and he has worked hard since he left Man United and went to Juve.

“He had a great, great career back at Juventus. Now, he is back at United and says that he is back where he belongs, that is his home.

“He looks like he missed Man United, the way he plays, the way he presents himself. I think he is a great talent who will one day win the Ballon d’Or.”

Cristiano Ronaldo was the last Manchester United player to win the individual trophy. He did it in 2008.
