Miley Cyrus Reveals Why She’ll Never Walk the Red Carpet Again

Miley Cyrus reveals she won’t be appearing on red carpets anymore. The famous singer says walking the red carpet should be for those who are still “struggling”, adding that she doesn’t feel it’s right to appear at these events just to show herself as “important and famous”.

The ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker spoke with ELLE magazine‘s October issue:

“[A year ago] I had to do the ‘A Very Murray Christmas’ premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again,” the 23-year-old said.

“Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m ‘important’? Because I’m ‘famous’? That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit – it’s like ‘Zoolander.'”

Miley, who’s also an actress and “Voice” coach, said in the interview that “money doesn’t make her happy”.

She shared: “People in this industry think, I just gotta keep getting more money, and I’m like, ‘What are you getting more money for’? You probably couldn’t even spend it all in this lifetime.

“People get more famous, so that they can make their brand more famous, so that they can sell more s**t, so that they can make more money. It’s a never-ending cycle.

“Getting more money, having more hits, being the lead in the movie – those things might stimulate you, but they don’t make you happy. I’ve experienced it all already, and I’m telling you firsthand, it doesn’t.”

Instead of struggling more to acquire wealth, the singer who doesn’t have a publicist anymore, says she spends more time on the social media.

Miley enjoys keeping her fans up to date with her Instagram feed. There, she publishes photos about her work with her Happy Hippie Foundation, cute pics of boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and stuff about her new coaching gig on “The Voice.”

The famous singer went further by revealing she “wants her contestants on the NBC show to stand out, more like a famous senator from Vermont”. That’s her candid advice.

In her words: “I don’t want this to come off the wrong way, but I’m going to tell my contestants: Be Bernie Sanders.

“Be the person people want and love. Don’t worry about the masses. That’s how you make a memorable moment. Let people talk about it.”

In all seriousness, Miley knows she’s a star, a model, an inspiration and more, to many people who are looking up to her. But the young celebrity says she never wants to be a “conventional role model”.

“[On her motivation behind establishing the Happy Hippie Foundation] A lot of us are born into some s**t, you know what I mean?

“Lately, I’ve been talking a lot about my being gender-fluid and gender-neutral.

“And some people snarl at that. They want to judge me.

“People need more conventional role models, I guess. But I just don’t care to be that person.”
