Jennifer Lawrence has maintained her position as the world’s highest paid actress for a second year in a row.
She stands top of the list compiled by editors at America’s Forbes magazine, after earning some US$46 million before tax between June 2015 – June 2016. The 26-year-old actress is also, the youngest among all listed celebrities.

The Hunger Games star, who was second on the list in 2014, has maintained the top spot for 2015 and 2016. She’s currently followed Melissa McCarthy.
Jennifer’s role in the Hollywood blockbuster movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, is said to have skyrocketed her earnings. The actress also received an Academy Award nomination (Best Actress) for her role in David O. Russell’s Joy. She prominently featured in the superhero sequel X-Men: Apocalypse.
Notwithstanding her position at the number one spot, Jennifer’s income slipped by 11.5 percent from $52 million–the amount she made in 2015.
Her total balance is also well below the amount made by Hollywood’s highest paid male actor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who took home $64.5 million over the same period.
Neither Dwayne nor Jennifer earned as much as our pretty pop star Taylor Swift, who was named the top earning celebrity of 2016 earlier this year, after accumulating an estimated US$170 million from record sales and her world tour.

The difference in paychecks for both male and female Hollywood stars sparked a huge outcry last year.
Meanwhile, Ghostbusters star Melissa McCarthy climbs up to second place, earning an estimated $33 million (£25 million).
Scarlett Johansson moved down to the third spot with $25 million (£19 million) after losing her second place to Melissa McCarthy.
